Moored in quiet dignity, the majestic Battleship North Carolina rests across the river from downtown Wilmington, beckoning visitors to walk her decks. In the Pacific Theatre you will discover the daily life and fierce combat her crew faced during World War II. From all across our nation came young men who had grown up in the crucible of the Great Depression and determined to serve their country in its time of need. These are the men whose stories you will encounter through their oral histories, photographs and mementos as you experience the ship and its exhibits. Build your personal connection with their stories by steering the ship, starting her engines or even firing the guns. The Battleship North Carolina—It's Your Experience.
The Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach opened its doors in June 2006. The complex consists of nine fields—four regulation-sized diamonds and five youth diamonds. The fields are designed after historic ballparks from baseball history that include: Griffith Field, Navin Field and The Polo Grounds. At The Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, each baseball field features a popular synthetic playing surface used by professional and collegiate teams worldwide. Consistent play, elimination of rain outs and the reduction of the risk for injuries are among the many benefits of this synthetic playing surface. It’s not just kids who can get in on the fun. Coaches can make calls from big league dugouts and glance over at the professional scoreboards.
The perfect place for families and children of all ages, including the adults with a bit of kid left in them. Enjoy our high energy and interactive games, then settle down for some of the best gourmet pizza the beach has to offer.
