An Event-Filled Summer in Myrtle Beach

Guests who vacation at Paradise Resort are eager to know what’s happening in and around Myrtle Beach. Check out this short list of summer events in the area — which offers just a sampling of all the fun activities available on the Grand Strand:

June 4, 21st Annual Corvettes at the Beach: The Myrtle Beach Corvette Club hosts this event, which will be held at Broadway at the Beach and runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission to view the collection of pristine cars expected to be on hand is free. All of this year’s proceeds go to two selected charities — Barnabas Horse Foundation and Meals on Wheels of Horry County.

June 9–10, Monster Jam: Returning to Myrtle Beach Speedway this summer, this event offers up two awesome monster mayhem truck shows featuring the infamous Grave Digger, Carolina Crusher, MAX-D, El Torro Loco and more. June 10–12, 2nd Annual Carolina Country Music Fest: The site for this festival, held by the scenic oceanfront right in the heart of Myrtle Beach, spans 18 acres of coastal area from the Boardwalk to Ocean Boulevard. The multi-day event brings together some of the biggest names in country music along with up-and-coming artists. 2016 acts include headliners Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Florida Georgia Line, as well as a number of other artists such as Jake Owen, Cole Swindell, Kelsea Ballerini and many more. In addition, the site boasts a zip line, VIP area, concessions areas, merchandise booths and more. Music fans and beach lovers alike will find this an unforgettable weekend experience!

June 25–26, FESTA ITALIANA: The Sons of Italy Myrtle Beach hosts this Italian festival at The Market Common. The event features authentic Italian dishes such as Neapolitan style pizza and ravioli, homemade Italian desserts including cannoli and biscotti, as well as beer and Italian wines. Other attractions include live entertainment, arts and craft vendors, a spaghetti eating contest and kids’ activities.  

July 1, Sun Fun 101 Race: The whole family can enjoy this Myrtle Beach Speedway event featuring side-by-side racing from divisions including the NASCAR Whelen All American Series and the Skid Plate Series (a new addition for 2016), among others.

July 4, 5th Annual Cupcake Eating Contest: Held at Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach and presented by Croissants Bistro, this event uses delicious desserts to raise money for autism awareness. Competitors 18 and older are invited to “have their cupcake and eat it too” during this cupcake-eating marathon. The winner will be crowned “Cupcake Champion” of Myrtle Beach.

Starting in June, Hot Summer Nights: With events staged all summer long at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, this series offers activities for all ages. Attractions include a weekly kids carnival, live DJs, free music concerts, fireworks, family movie nights and tons of other festive activities — making this a can’t miss stop on your visit to Myrtle Beach and Paradise Resort.

As always, summertime visitors to the Paradise Resort are treated to regular poolside DJs and bands right at the resort.
