Many Myrtle Beach visitors with a need for speed have a one-track mind — for them, everything revolves around racing. There’s good news for these velocity-seeking vacationers — they now have seven racetracks to choose from at the Broadway Grand Prix Family Race Park, which has recently expanded its already long list of attractions to include more racing options and other entertainment alternatives.

Located at Broadway at the Beach on the former NASCAR SpeedPark site, Broadway Grand Prix has continually grown to offer more high-speed action, as well as some fun things for those who prefer life in the slow lane. Featuring thrill rides, two miniature golf courses, a modern arcade and a snack bar, there's a lot more to do than racing at Broadway Grand Prix.

But go-karts are the main attraction, and Broadway Grand Prix has recently added a new fleet of souped-up minicars for patrons to take for a spin in the multipurpose complex’s fun but safe environment. The addition of a new Slick Track, designed to simulate the popular activity of drift racing, allows drivers to slip, slide and glide through the course like a scene from “The Fast and the Furious.”

Other popular layouts include the Grand Prix Pro Track, which simulates an open-wheel road course that requires skill to navigate the twisting turns. The High Bank Oval Track replicates a typical NASCAR short track like Bristol, where drivers use the high, tight turns to build up enough momentum to pass the pack in the corners. There's also the Speed Racer Track, where drivers can run wide open on the fastest layout Broadway Grand Prix has to offer.

While Broadway Grand Prix provides a wealth of outlets for older kids and adults who are still kids at heart, the facility also boasts three tracks designed specifically for youngsters and parents. The Family Track features go-karts built for two so a parent can drive while his or her child rides shotgun for a fun spin around the course. The Junior Racer Track and the Kids Track are designed to allow the underage and undersized future racing stars to hone their skills and experience the thrill of driving solo.

If racing is not your thing, there are plenty of other attractions to keep you entertained. The Sky Coaster thrill ride lets guests experience the thrill of free flight while spinning high above the ground in only a safety harness as the wind whips through their hair. For those who prefer to stay a bit closer to the ground, the Rock Climbing Wall provides a challenging way to test your scaling skills. Two 18-hole miniature golf courses and a state-of-the-art arcade, which has plenty of the latest video games and racing simulators, are other fun ways to spend the day. While you’re there, be sure to visit the snack bar for food, drinks and ice cream treats.

Perfect for group outings, family fun and even a change-of-pace date night, Broadway Grand Prix offers admission options of various combinations that allow patrons to pick and choose the package that best suits their needs — from limited-use tickets to all-day wristbands allowing full access to all the racetracks and other attractions. There are also party packages available for groups of 12 or more that include rides, food, drinks and game tickets.

Best of all, guests at Paradise Resort receive one free adult admission wristband per room, making it an even more affordable way for your party to spend a fun-filled vacation day. Check your Sun & Fun Rewards package for free admission to Broadway Grand Prix and other attractions through June 3. After you’ve spent a fun day in the fast lane at Broadway Grand Prix, you can relax in the slow lane at Paradise Resort, Myrtle Beach.
