Experience the new Trekker through the back roads and cemeteries at Brookgreen. Explore former slave and plantation owners’ graveyards and learn about the historical burial. Brookgreen Gardens • The Oaks Plantation History and Nature Trail
Time: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at Noon and 3:00 PM • Price: $3.00 in addition to garden admission
Enjoy this walking trail, learn about the history behind the plantation and see archaeological site. The bus to the Nature Trail will depart on the hour from noon to 3:00 PM. Brookgreen Gardens • New History Exhibit
Time: Daily from Noon and 4:30 PM • Price: Free with garden admission
This new exhibit, Etched in the Eyes, The Spirit of a People Called Gullah Geechee, captures the spirit of the Gullah Geechee culture along the eastern coastline through 12 captivating wall prints. Time: Wednesday at 1:00 PM • Price: Free with garden admission
Complementary to the new exhibit, Etched in the Eyes, The Spirit of a People Called Gullah Geechee,” this new presentation, presented by Ron Daise, teaches viewers about the historical figures, cultural traits and places along the four-state Gullah/Geechee cultural heritage corridor.
