We may not be Munich, but Myrtle Beach is lucky enough to have several great Oktoberfest celebrations to choose from. So grab your beer stein and lederhosen and get ready to have a great time!
Oct. 12, 2013
Head downtown for free live music all day starting at noon! Some of the bands lined up for the event include: Drivin N Cryin; Cowboy Mouth; American Aquarium; Passafire; Ballyhoo; and Who Shot JR? Of course there will also be an “oompa band.”
Come on down to grub on some German food and beer and have a great time right off the Boardwalk on 8th and 9th Avenues North. There will be an alcohol-free kids’ area with inflatables, street performer and a bratwurst eating contest.
Oct. 4-6, 2013
Head on down to The Market Common for another take on the annual Bavarian festivities, where you can dance to live German music Saturday and Sunday, enjoy games for the kids, German food, more than 20 vendors and a wide array of Oktoberfest beer. There will also be a pumpkin patch where kids can decorate pumpkins, Oktoberfest steins, face painting inflatables and more.
The event will be held in Valor Park at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4; from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5; and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6.
Oktoberfest is a great time to get together to celebrate community in true German style, so if you’ll be in Myrtle Beach for a fall getaway during one of these weekends, join us!
