Relaxing by the pool and playing in the Atlantic surf can work up quite the appetite. Of course, Myrtle Beach is well known for its abundance of incredible seafood restaurants — but many may not know that we also have some of the most delicious steak restaurants you will find anywhere. To help you seize your sizzle, we’ve put together this listing of locals’ favorites for you:

Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse — Located on 29th Avenue North just across from Broadway at the Beach, this spot is known locally as the place to take visitors for a great steak and a fun-filled evening. Rioz provides an unforgettable dining experience, with its fare served in the spirit of southern Brazilian-style cooking. You will enjoy an extensive salad bar that offers both hot and cold items including seafood and sushi. Served by your tableside gaucho, your options include more than 15 different cuts of beef, pork, lamb and poultry. The menu and the atmosphere are unlike anything else along the beach.

Carolina Roadhouse — Located between 38th Avenue North and 48th Avenue North on Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, “the Roadhouse” is a place where locals know they will never be disappointed — and they’ve made it a favorite since 1995. The menu is varied, so there is sure to be something for everyone in your group, even the kids! From mouthwatering filet mignon to the most incredible entrée salads you will find anywhere, meals are accompanied by delicious and sinful honey-glazed croissants. These are so well loved that they are also found on their appetizer menu.

Flamingo Grill — Located at 71st Avenue North on Kings Highway, Flamingo Grill is a true beach favorite. In any vacation area, there are those restaurants that are locally owned and where everything is done to perfection. The atmosphere, the menu, the staff — nothing is overlooked at Flamingo Grill. The owners aren’t just locals, they grew up in Myrtle Beach when Highway 17 was a two-lane dirt road. So if you see them — which you likely will — oh, the stories they can tell! The restaurant itself is decorated in a fun art deco style and has been featured in Southern Living, Architecture Magazine, New York Post Travel, Sandlapper and many other publications. The menu ranges from succulent “Steak Flamingo” to  Lowcountry crab cakes, lobster tail, Cajun oysters and peppercorn salmon. Whatever your choice, you will not be disappointed.

TBonz Gill & Grill — With locations at Barefoot Landing and off 21st Avenue North across from Broadway at the Beach, this is a great destination when out for a night of sightseeing, shows or shopping. While TBonz is known for much more than just steaks, their steaks are simply divine! Also offering ribs, burgers and a kids’ menu, the restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere is perfect for families. You will also enjoy their wide-ranging, award-winning selection of homegrown ales. And don’t leave without trying one of the best desserts on the beach. Their chocolate cake is homemade and out of this world!

Thorny’s — Located at 600 South Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, Thorny’s is locally owned and operated. It is also a favorite for many families, as not only are the steaks award-winning, but the design and décor are everything you would want in a family restaurant. There is even a Kids Zone featuring arcade games and other kid-friendly activities. Adding to the fun, every booth has its own television. And just because they know how to make the kiddos happy doesn’t mean that they neglect the adults — far from it. The menu is extensive, and the steaks are some of the best in the area.

All of these mouthwatering options are within 20 minutes of the Paradise Resort, Myrtle Beach — and they offer a perfect way to top off a day of relaxing on the beach or by the pool.
