To cab or not to cab … this is the question on your next Myrtle Beach vacation
The question of transportation on vacation is a big one. How best to get to your destination is quickly followed by how best to get around once you’re there. Because transportation can make a big difference in the quality of your stay … unless all you plan on doing is lounging by the pool. And if that’s the case, we don’t blame you. That’s why we even have a restaurant right onsite—we don’t want you to have to go far if you don’t want to.
You’ve got to decide how to get around town if you don’t end up driving your own car to Myrtle Beach, and if that’s your choice, we don’t really blame you, as Hwy. 501 into town during peak season can be more than a little irksome. Do you rent a car or just use cabs?
The biggest factor in your decision will probably be just how much you plan on traveling around Myrtle Beach. Here at Paradise Resort, we’ve got oceanfront views, easy beach access, outdoor and indoor pools, and a breakfast restaurant right onsite. During peak season, our tiki hut is also poolside for lunch or refreshments.
But what about dinner and entertainment? There are a few options within walking distance, including, of course, the beach, playing mini golf at Safari Mini Golf, and dinner at one of our favorite Asian fusion restaurants, E Noodles & Co. But if you’d like to go a little farther afield, you’ll need wheels—whether you or someone else drives them.
Cab ride prices vary, of course, especially because the cost is calculated in part based on the time it takes to get to your destination. So depending on traffic, a cab ride to Broadway at the Beach could cost anywhere from $10 to $30. But of course one major benefit of taking cabs is that you’re not the driver—that’s key if having cocktails is on the agenda, as South Carolina police take DUI seriously.
But if drinking isn’t much of a concern, a rental car might be a good option for your trip. You’ll have plenty of choices when it comes to rental cars—prices vary from rental company to rental company, and they also vary depending on where you pick up the vehicle and what kind of vehicle you opt for.
It’s all a matter of personal choice, but no matter which way you go, rest assured you’re in for a fantastic vacation when you opt to stay at Paradise Resort in Myrtle Beach!
