It’s almost time to throw away the 2015 calendar and break in a new one for 2016, and what better way to make the transition than with a trip to Myrtle Beach at Paradise Resort? The Grand Strand goes all out for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, giving guests a wide range of activities to choose from.

Watch fireworks light up the skies over the ocean, dance to live music, enjoy a romantic evening for two or celebrate with good friends at various locations along the Carolina coast. We’ve put together 10 of the best ways to ring in the New Year – five with kids, five without – so you can mark the occasion in true Myrtle Beach style:

Kid Friendly-

Barefoot Princess: This riverboat cruise takes passengers down the Intracoastal Waterway daily, but the New Year's Eve Dinner Cruise is something special. Celebrate on the water with a four-course meal, live music and a scenic tour of the Waterway.

Christmas Wonderland: Give the little ones one last taste of Christmas at this holiday event at the North Myrtle Beach Sports & Recreation Complex. Take a hayride, see a lights show, visit the petting zoo and enjoy other activities in a family friendly atmosphere.

Fireworks: The skies will light up along the Grand Strand with several firework shows on tap. Check out pyrotechnics displays at Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, Market Common and the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk.

Market Common: Large crowds flock to Market Common's Southern Times Square for its own version of the Big Apple's bash. Live music, live bands and a fireworks show highlight the events at this growing New Year's tradition.

Theaters: The Grand Strand's live music theaters ring in the New Year with special holiday shows. Legends In Concert's lineup of tribute artists include Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole and Dolly Parton, while the Alabama Theatre, The Carolina Opry, Pirate's Voyage, and Palace Theatre present their holiday-themed productions.

Adults Only-

Brookgreen Gardens: The beauty of art and nature come together to provide a romantic backdrop at the New Year's Eve Garden Party. See the statues and plant life illuminated in candlelight as roaming musicians entertain visitors in a Lowcountry setting.

Celebrity Square: Following the fireworks display at Broadway at the Beach, the action heats up in the nightlife district known as Celebrity Square. Featuring more than a dozen clubs in one city block, Celebrity Square offers fun inside the bars and outside in the plaza. Hard Rock Cafe hosts a big bash, as do the music, dance and comedy clubs.

Comedy Cabana: Start the New Year off with a good laugh at this Restaurant Row institution. Featuring two co-headliners for a special show, Comedy Cabana will offer party favors and a champagne toast to tickle your taste buds as well as your funny bone.

House of Blues: The HOB offers two great options for the holiday – the New Year's Dinner & Dance that allows couples to have a romantic meal and party in the restaurant and lounge, while the music hall will host Corey Smith live in concert.

2001: This New Year's Blowout spans three days and lasts from the final hours of 2015 well into 2016. The Pizzazz Band and the Chocolate Chip Co. rock the house on New Year's Eve, followed by Too Much Sylvia on Jan. 1 and the Blackwater R&B Band on Jan. 2.

Of course, you can always call it an early night and ring in the New Year back in your room at the Paradise Resort. It’s the perfect way to close out 2015 and start 2016 on a happy note.
