It’s one of the biggest events of the year in the South Strand, and this is an extra-special 25th year.

Celebrate the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art at — where else? — Litchfield Beach & Golf. We offer the widest array of accommodations at great prices, all within minutes of the action.

This year’s festival kicks off on Friday, September 25, and heads well into October with an exciting lineup of music, art, food, wine and more.

What’s in store for the quarter-century celebration of this favorite for both locals and visitors? Take a look.

Third Annual Seaside Palette: This is not, we repeat not, like watching paint dry. Instead it’s downright fascinating. Kick off the festival in beautiful downtown Georgetown, not a far drive from Litchfield, and watch artists paint “en plein air” while competing for prizes in a judged competition. See the masters at work, pick up a few pointers, and have a rare glimpse inside the incredible creative process. Oh, and buy one of the beautiful works you see at the Wet Paint Sale that afternoon. Also, see the Squonk Opera, a touring collective that fuses music, art and acting into an unforgettable performance, heck, they were once on America’s Got Talent, in three shows on Saturday, September 26 in Georgetown. Come by the day before to take part in workshops led by the group.

6th Annual Chalk Walk: These are not your basic hopscotch squares. Walk among, and atop, incredible, vibrant works of art, made by artists and “civilians” alike, using nothing but sidewalk chalk and the concrete upon which it rests. Kids and adults, young and old — the long path of diverse art is a delight to behold. (Hey, that rhymes! We're clearly getting into the artistic spirit here.) Based on the Italian tradition of street art, this event  — also known as “Chalk Under the Oaks”  — is open to anyone and is free. Check this out for pictures from past events.

16th Annual Pawleys Island Wine and Food Gala: The event’s premier fundraiser will be held on Thursday, October 1 this year. Taste an array of delicious wines from vintners near and far and be entered to win the $5,000 raffle with the purchase of you $100 ticket. Sound a little steep? Consider what that gets you: a chance to taste more than 100 wines, access to a craft beer tasting, samplings of hors d’oeuvres created by eight of the area's top chefs, a dessert tasting, a silent auction, the chance the purchase wines at a discount, and a souvenir glass. Oh, and incredible socializing opportunities and lots of good people watching!

Musical acts: Here's where things really start to heat up. The 2015 musical lineup is as follows:

AJ Croce (10/2 at 7 p.m.)

Aaron Neville ((10/3 at 7 p.m.)

Mike Farris and The Roseland Rhythm Revue (10/8 at 7 p.m.)

All musical events will be held at the Reserve Golf Club of Pawleys Island, which is about a mile away from your accommodations at Litchfield Beach & Golf.

Hurry and reserve tickets for your desired events — entries are limited, especially for the Wine Gala and some of the bigger shows! Also make sure to reserve your Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort stay soon, here. We can’t wait to see you!
