If you’re hoping to get in a round (or five) of golf during your stay at North Beach Plantation, you’re in luck! In Myrtle Beach, golfers of every skill level can find a course that’s fun to play. Here are five amazing choices for a day on the links, all within four miles of the resort:

A public 9-hole course located less than a mile from North Beach Plantation, the Windy Hill Golf Hill Par 3 is a great place to fit in a short round in the morning or afternoon. The course’s signature hole is the #3, which features a long drive off the tee and a sand bunker to avoid if you want to successfully make par. The course is largely flat, but its tree-lined fairways are attractive and quiet, and the elevated greens will encourage you to keep your putting controlled and accurate.

Just a little farther down the road, Barefoot Resort offers four 18-hole championship golf courses and a golf club, all open to the public. Each Barefoot Resort course was designed by a different top-notch designer — Pete Dye, Tom Fazio, Greg Norman and Davis Love III — and each presents a unique challenge to golfers. The Love Course was inspired by Pinehurst No. 2, with wide fairways and greens, while the Fazio Course is an out-and-back course with lots of hazards along the way. The Norman Course stretches along the Intracoastal Waterway, using the water and vegetation to create natural obstacles, and the Dye Course has been nominated as one of the top golf courses in the state!

Azalea Sands Golf Club is a public 18-hole course designed by Gene Hamm and geared toward fun for all ages and skill levels. The course features practice areas for putting and chipping, large greens and fairways, and larger-diameter cups on the greens to help the games move along a little faster. It’s a fun challenge no matter which tee you choose to play from!

The Rees Jones-designed Arcadian Shores Golf Club course features greens and fairways contoured in unusual ways with natural hazards that give it a feel all its own. The course, which emphasizes strategy as much as power, offers handicappers and amateurs alike an enjoyable game.

Beachwood Golf Club is a full-length public course that has played host to the Carolina Open and the Carolinas PGA Seniors tournament. The course has the reputation of being particularly well cared for. Trees and natural water hazards are interspersed with brilliant floral displays, giving it a unique beauty you won’t see anywhere else. Beachwood offers a full-scale practice facility, which includes a driving range, putting greens and chipping greens, and it can accommodate single golfers as well as larger groups and parties.

With so many great Myrtle Beach golfing options right outside the gates, guests at North Beach Plantation can tee it up in nearly any style they choose!
