The tournament will be held March 1st through the 5th at the HTC center in Conway, This year’s tournament will feature 15 leave teams. The games begin on Wednesday, March first and will wrap up on March 5th with the Championship. This is quite the event and if you are in town during this time, you definitely don’t want to miss it. The championship will air on ESPN 2 for those of you who can’t make it to the coast.

Coastal Carolina University isn’t just a gracious host; they come to play as well. When you are in town, check the teams schedule and if there is a game while you are here, you will not be disappointed. The Chanticleers offer an outstanding time at every game and head coach Cliff Ellis can prove it.  He just witnessed his 800th career victory as head coach!

Who are you going to want to keep your eye on when you’re in the stands?  One player for sure to grab your attention is Jaylen Shaw.  Shaw is averaging 20 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 60 percent from the field, 66 percent on 3-pointers and 100 percent from the free throw line. Impressed yet?  So are we which is why you will find such tremendous hometown support for this team.  We love our Chants!  The games are truly exhilarating for fans.

We’ve always loved our hometown team and this year is even more exciting as it’s their first season as Sun Belt Conference members since leaving the Big South. Right now they have stormed into the conference in a big way as they have wins against Texas State, Arkansas State, Little Rock and Appalachian State as well. The Chants play to win and it’s always a game to watch!

Of course, it’s no surprise that the basketball team at CCU is having such great success. After all, this is the school that was able to bring home the win of a lifetime last year for their baseball team when they won the College World Series.  Clearly CCU’s athletic department has a lot going for it and is one to watch.  At the beach, we couldn’t be more proud of our hometown team.

When you come to the beach, check with the staff at the Paradise Resort for a game schedule.  We can also point you in the right direction for lunch, dinner, tailgating gear and even some shopping in the area of the University.  It’s a stunning campus and one you will want to take some time to explore when you see a game, so make sure and leave a little time for that. In the meantime…Go Chants!
