Be a Knight for a Night at Medieval Times in Myrtle Beach

Take one night out of your Myrtle Beach vacation to travel 1,000 years back in history at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. Located in the Fantasy Harbor section of Myrtle Beach, this replica of an 11th century Spanish castle hosts a magical kingdom untouched by time.

Once patrons pass through the ornate castle gates they are magically transported back a millennia in time to a romantic age of chivalry and nobility. Staying in character to add to the authenticity of the experience, the cast and crew go above and beyond to treat their guests like royalty. Enjoy a meal fit for a king, and a show that exceeds expectations.

Medieval Times' talented cast of actors brings the Middle Ages to life before your very eyes. The royal family greets guests into the arena while the knights compete in dazzling displays of jousting, dueling, and hand-to-hand combat that are so realistic you will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Highly trained animals also put on impressive performances of horsemanship and falconry as part of the action-packed show. In addition to the main events, which feature six knights battling it various tests of bravery and skill, the storyline also brings tells a romantic tale set in Medieval Spain.

The crowd becomes part of the show as they root for the knight of their choice and are selected to come down to the arena floor to take part in various exhibitions. Special guests are announced and introduced to the royal family. Some lucky patrons are even selected to serve as subjects in a traditional knighting ceremony.

All guests are treated like nobles for the dinner service, which includes a feast of tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, sweet buttered corn, herb-basted potatoes, garlic bread and the pastry of the day for dessert. Vegetarian meals are available upon request. Tea, coffee and select beverages are served, and there is a full-service bar available for adults.

Reservations are recommended and guests are asked to arrive more than an hour before show time so they can take advantage of all that Medieval Times has to offer. Guests can pose for photos with some of the characters and explore the facility, which looks like a Medieval-era history museum.

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament features daily shows at 5 p.m. during the summer months, as well as 7:30 p.m. on occasional twin bills. Tickets are $53.95 for adults, $26.95 for children ages 3-12, and younger children are admitted free as long as they sit on an adult’s lap and share their meal.

Special discounts are available, especially for guests at Paradise Resort. As part of the Sun Fun Rewards program, guests receive one free ticket to Medieval Times to make it more affordable for a family to attend. Free tickets to other Myrtle Beach attractions are also included in the Sun Fun Rewards program.

 Visitors can check out the bar, dance floor, and the Hall of Arms, which displays medieval artifacts and a medieval torture museum. After the show, the characters come out to meet and greet their guests decked in full regalia, from the knights that do battle to the king and queen and their court.
