If you have only vacationed in Myrtle Beach during the summer months, you are missing out. Although the summertime is the peak tourist season for fun in the surf, sand and sun, the autumn is prime time for festivals on the Grand Strand, and the Breakers Resort is your headquarters for hitting all the hot spots during the fall festival season.

It all kicks off Labor Day weekend, and guests at the Breakers are within 1 mile of two of the biggest events in town. The Fifth Annual Coastal Uncorked Festival is back by popular demand, highlighting the food, wine and spirits of the Grand Strand. The Sept. 4-6 Coastal Uncorked moves to Broadway at the Beach’s Celebrity Square with a wide variety of events. Friday features Chocolate Under the Moon and Moonshine Mixology, followed by the Brews ‘N The Beach Craft Beer event on Saturday. The Grand Tasting Event closes the show on Sunday, with live music on the outdoor stage and booths serving dishes and wines from local restaurants and national vendors. Tickets and more information are available at www.mbhospitality.com.

Only a short walk from the Breakers toward the downtown district is the inaugural Boardwalk Marketplace Arts and Crafts Festival. This event will attract thousands of bargain shoppers as vendors from both the local and regional level to display their wares in the park between Eighth and Ninth Avenues North. The two-day event runs from noon to 7 p.m. each day, followed by live music at the Plyler Park stage. For more information, visit www.myrtlebeachdowntown.
