If you are looking for a festive Fourth of July with the family, look no further.  Book your stay here with us at Paradise Resort.  Here’s a look at some of the highlights for Independence Day:

Fireworks: The skies over Myrtle Beach are filled with flashing colors on the Fourth of July thanks to a number of free fireworks shows on the Strand. In Myrtle Beach, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk serves as the centerpiece of the Fourth of July festivities with a patriotic pyrotechnics display launched from Second Avenue Pier. Just a mile inland (as the bottle rocket flies) at Broadway at the Beach, fireworks will take flight over Lake Broadway at 10 p.m. On the South Strand, the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk will host a sunset celebration followed by fireworks over the waterfront. On the North Strand, Barefoot Landing launches a barrage of pyrotechnics over Barefoot Lake at 10 p.m. For a couple of bonus shows, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans minor league baseball team hosts post-game fireworks on July 3 and 7.

Live Music: Celebrate your freedom of expression on the dance floor at one of the many music festivals taking place on the Fourth of July. The main event is Music on Main in North Myrtle Beach, where the Horseshoe section of Ocean Drive is converted into one big dance party as local R&B band Tru Sol takes the stage at 7 p.m. On the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, live patriotic music will be held at Plyler Park as a warm-up for the free fireworks show. In nearby Surfside Beach, a full day of music, food and fun are slated from 6 to 10 p.m.

Parades: The Grand Strand does parades a little differently than the rest of the world. Instead of traditional floats and marching bands, our local Independence Day parades feature golf carts, boats and planes. The Pawleys Island Golf Cart Parade highlights a full day of fun at the tiny resort town, while the nearby Murrells Inlet Boat Parade features a flotilla of red, white and blue-decorated vessels that can be seen from the shoreline. Around 1 p.m., look to the skies for a flyover of military jets in the annual Salute from the Shore event.

Road Races: Pursue happiness and a healthy lifestyle by entering one of local road races and fun runs on the Fourth. The 10th Annual Myrtle Beach Independence Day 5K and 8K fires the starting gun at 7:30 a.m. for a jog around the Market Common and an after party at Grand Park. The Barefoot Landing 5K is also set to run on the Fourth, followed by a beach party at Lucy Buffett’s Lulu’s.

Something for everyone for this holiday weekend, plan today and book here at Paradise Resort to celebrate the 4th of July at the beach.
