Watch the swinging watch and relax. You are getting very, very sleepy and … SNAP! OK, so maybe hypnosis doesn't work in print, but nonbelievers in subconscious manipulation can see it for themselves firsthand at the GTS Theatre in Myrtle Beach. In fact, if you are brave enough to volunteer and susceptible to hypnosis, you can even experience it for yourself.
The Wild 4 Hypnosis Comedy Show combines the mental magic of hypnosis with hilarious and humorous routines to entertain crowds at the GTS Theatre, which is located just off Highway 17 Bypass near Coastal Grand Mall. The hypnosis shows are only part of the upcoming months’ exciting lineup, which includes a special Christmas show and tributes to Motown, disco and beach music. Here's a look at the future shows so guests at Long Bay Resort can plan a fun and funny night out on the town:
* Wild 4 Hypnosis: The husband-and-wife team of Rich and Elizabeth Wylde bring their long-running act to the GTS Theatre on Thursdays with an early all-ages show and an R-Rated nightcap that is for adults only. The Wyldes take volunteers from the audience and place them in a hypnotic state before feeding them hilarious suggestions that leave the awake and alert members of the crowd in stitches. Step up to the stage, if you dare, or sit in your seat and prepare to chuckle while your friends act like animals, sing and dance like they are in the shower, and do all kinds of embarrassing stunts you can use against them for years. You have to see this one to believe it.
* Redneck Christmas Show: Celebrate the holidays in nontraditional fashion with this show that focuses on the lighter side of Christmas. Comedians perform their best holiday-themed sets, and the audience joins in on sing-along songs and Christmas comedy classics like “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” and “The Twelve Redneck Days of Christmas.” The holiday cheer will be flowing for this all-ages show, which runs from November through December. This show is sure to put you and your crew in a happy mood and in the holiday spirit. Patrons might even get to experience a hilarious visit from trailer-park versions of Santa Claus and the Grinch.
* Musical Tributes: It's not all laughter and hypnosis at the GTS Theatre. The GTS Theatre takes a walk on the musical side with a series of shows designed around various genres. The Motor City Musical delivers the magic of Motown to the main stage with singers and dancers who bring the soulful songs to life. Night Fever pays tribute to the crazy days of disco music and dancing, so wear your stacks and bell-bottoms and feel the Saturday night fever. The Beach Party gives visitors a taste of the Myrtle Beach musical scene with shag dancing and classic beach-music tunes. Crowd participation is strongly encouraged as audience members take the stage and belt out their own karaoke tunes at the musical-themed performances.
Guests at Long Bay Resort have several other options for live entertainment over the holidays. Christmas shows run November through December at the Alabama Theatre, The Carolina Opry and Legends In Concert. For other comedy options, check out Crocodile Rocks Dueling Pianos at Broadway at the Beach’s Celebrity Square, or tickle your funny bone at Myrtle Beach’s most popular comedy venue, the Comedy Cabana on Restaurant Row, which is just a short drive away from Long Bay. Wherever you decide to celebrate, you are sure to have a great time and vacation by ending your evening at Long Bay Resort.
