Spring break is more than just a chance to thaw out from the winter chill and recharge your own solar batteries. It's also a great opportunity for families to experience the many rites of spring that Myrtle Beach has to offer while also building lasting vacation memories. For our guests at Compass Cove Resort, here are five of our favorite activities for families to enjoy:

Broadway Grand Prix: Take a ride on the wild side at this new go-kart track and entertainment center at Broadway at the Beach. Featuring seven race tracks with no two exactly alike, Broadway Grand Prix Family Race Park has courses ranging from kid-friendly to ones for the fast and furious. If racing isn't your game, there are plenty of things to do at a slower pace, such as miniature golf, kids' rides and a high-tech arcade. Guests at Compass Cove have extra incentive to race to this attraction. Your Sun & Fun Rewards package includes one free adult admission for an all-you-can-ride wristband.

Easter Events: One of the best reasons to visit Myrtle Beach for spring break is the chance to take part in the abundance of Easter festivities surrounding the holiday. On Saturday, March 26, several Easter Egg Hunts will be held in the neighboring towns of North Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach, and sunrise services are held the next day at various churches along the Grand Strand, including a non-denominational gathering on the beach at Plyler Park. It's an inspirational way for families to celebrate Easter Sunday while away on vacation.

Legends In Concert: Enjoy a fun night of entertainment from some of the best tribute artists in the business at this Broadway at the Beach theater. Featuring a talented cast that impersonate popular celebrities from the worlds of Hollywood, music and the Golden Age of TV, Legends In Concert bridges the generation gap with famous figures from all eras. From the Rat Pack crew of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Marilyn Monroe and Sammy Davis Jr., to modern stars like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Garth Brooks and Lady Gaga, this show has something for all ages and gives children, parents and even grandparents an appreciation for each other's idea of entertainment.

Myrtle Beach State Park: Discover what the South Carolina coast looked like before the high-rise hotels and neon lights became the skyline. Located just a few blocks south of Compass Cove, this state park features secluded beaches, pristine wetlands and dense woodlands where hiking trails carry you to a side of Myrtle Beach most visitors never see. The parts of the park that are developed are designed to enhance your outdoor experience – covered picnic shelters just beyond the dune line, a nature center where rangers offer hands-on educational programs, and a pier where you can get all the bait, tackle, licenses and advice you need for a day of fishing and crabbing.

Watersports: With warmer weather on its way this spring, the opportunity to get wet and wild returns to the Grand Strand. Outfitters offering parasailing, jet ski rentals, banana boat rides and kayak/canoe tours are back in business and ready to take you and your crew into a day of fun on the Atlantic Ocean, Intracoastal Waterway and tidal creeks and rivers on the scenic South Carolina coast. Deep-sea fishing tours and dolphin-watching cruises also resume operations and sail out of the nearby ports of Little River and Murrells Inlet.

Of course, the best place for families to spend spring break is right here on the Compass Cove property. Offering clean and comfortable accommodations, indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities, easy access to the beach and a convenient downtown location, Compass Cove Resort is your family’s home away from home for spring break in Myrtle Beach.
