There is a place here in Myrtle Beach where the locals know they are always sure to find a good time on Friday nights. The atmosphere is welcoming and exciting; the establishment is open to all ages; there is never a cover charge; and the shows themselves are must-see. The place is The Boathouse, and if you need directions or a show schedule, your friendly staff at Paradise Resort is happy to help while you are visiting.

It doesn’t matter whether you are vacationing with your family or going out with friends while you are here at beach, you will all have a great time at The Boathouse. They are located just west of the Highway 501 bridge and right on the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway. The location will have you calling this your new favorite place the moment you catch the view.

Free Show Friday Concerts begin at 9 p.m. and continue until closing time, which will vary based on the show and the crowd. The Boathouse is one of the go-to places for locals for live music in the area, and they boast having “the best backyard in town”! Once you attend a concert this spring, you will quickly see why.

Don’t just come for the music, though. The Boathouse’s food is also a favorite among locals, and it’s paired with some of the best cocktail and drink prices you will find anywhere at the beach. They like to describe their food as “upscale bar food” — which includes everything from superior wings and cheeseburgers to fresh flounder and mouthwatering ribeye. While you are there, make sure to get some apps — the Avocado & Chicken Egg Rolls are to die for, as are the Blackened Shrimp Nachos. There is also a list of burgers that will have your head spinning to make a decision. The good news is that you can’t go wrong with any of your selections. The food is that good.

If you are coming for the concert, we suggest arriving early, having dinner and cocktails, and then enjoying the show. The building is large, however it does get very busy, and you’ll want to have your space claimed before the crowds arrive. While enjoying the show, you can also enjoy one of their craft beers, as they have a huge selection. If you can’t quite decide, no problem there, either, as they offer tasting flights so you can sample and decide on your favorite.

Of course, you will want to know about the show before you go, so here is their most current lineup:

Friday, April 7 – Doug McCormick

Friday, April 14 – Brandon Ray

Friday, April 21 – Josh Phillips

Friday, April 28 – Davisson Brothers

Friday, May 5 – Old Southern Moonshine

Friday, May 12 – Riley Green

Friday, May 19 – Jobe Fortner

Friday, June 2 – Tyler Hammond

Friday, July 7 – Outshyne

Friday, July 14 – Carter Winter

If you are making plans for a summer trip to the beach, you will want to find your way back to The Boathouse on a Sunday, as that is when their summer concert series heats up. These concerts take place on the Boathouse lawn, which overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway. Be prepared for a crowd for these Sunday Fundays. Boats filled with concert-goers will be lined up along the water, and the lawn will fill quickly. These concerts feature a completely different atmosphere than the Free Show Friday events in the spring, and it’s one to be experienced firsthand. It is clearly a relaxed, laid-back event, with attendees in everything from bikinis to board shorts or sundresses. The goal is to kick back, have a cocktail and enjoy the day on the lawn with great friends and awesome music.

While you are here with us at, Paradise Resort we would love to help you make your plans for visiting The Boathouse. We’re glad to offer directions, band suggestions and even tips on our favorite foods. It’s a locals’ favorite, so we are happy to tell you all about it!
