Vacation, it’s a time to kick back, relax, unwind and let loose a little. Myrtle Beach has the settings for relaxation and unwinding covered with its gorgeous sand and sea, but we also have the letting-loose portion covered with an abundance of area dance clubs. You’ll want to know which one is perfect for you, so we’re breaking them down here with all the details.

The first place anyone in Myrtle Beach goes for nightlife is Broadway at the Beach. Even if you have been before, you’re going to want to make a return trip, because there have been lots of changes going on over the past year, with more still planned.

With a décor featuring sand buckets, surfboards and sharks, Malibu’s Surf Bar at Broadway has the feel of a tropical summer destination inside. It also boasts a Tiki Bar, which opens at 6 p.m. to get things underway for the night. When you are ready to hit the dance floor, you’ll be cutting loose to the best mix of ’80s, ’90s and current hits. It’s one of the best parties on the beach. Keep your eyes open for the nightly drink specials, and be sure to ask about adding a little fire to their signature frozen drinks. You won’t regret it!

While we are talking about the Broadway at the Beach clubs, we have to mention Crocodile Rocks. It’s not your typical dance club, but instead it is a piano bar — more specifically, a dueling piano bar. This is a must-see here at the beach and a place where locals love to take our friends when they vacation here.  The unique show is never the same and is always heavy on audience participation, laughs, singing and dancing. The club’s doors open at 7 p.m. seven days a week, with the show beginning at 8 p.m. — but you can come at any point during the evening to join in the drinks and fun. You are also able to call ahead and reserve seats or even VIP tables.

Still making our way around Broadway at the Beach, we have to mention Senor Frog’s. With locations from Cozumel to Playa Del Carmen, Senor Frog’s is known for its nightlife, and the Myrtle Beach location is no exception! You can start your night with dinner before the party gets started, and the doors are open to those 21 and up after 10 p.m. That is when the DJ gets the crowd pumped for an evening of singing and dancing. This is the place whose motto is, “Have fun, let yourself go and unleash your fiesta.”  How can you not enjoy a night at a place where you can “unleash your fiesta” and dance the night away — with a margarita in hand, of course!

Next, we’ll leave Broadway and head north a bit to where dancing on the beach began, 2001 Nightclub. For almost 40 years, this has been the place to be along the beach for the best music, DJs and dancing.  When anyone mentions “dance club” in Myrtle Beach, 2001 is immediately what comes to mind, and for good reason. Although they’ve been around since the ’80s, the only thing that has remained the same is the club’s location and its reputation for a good time. These days, you will find that 2001 is actually TWO clubs under one roof. If you are looking for beach music, oldies and top 40 hits with the area’s best bands, then the Next Level is the one for you. If, on the other hand, you are wanting to dance the night away with a mix of old-school, retro and dance music from today, then your place to be is Club Touch. Both clubs hold up the level of top entertainment that 2001 is known for, so you can’t go wrong.

You now have a list that gives you variety that only Myrtle Beach’s nightlife could offer, and we’ve only scratched the surface. We have clubs from Murrells Inlet to North Myrtle Beach that offer everything from pop to country and even shagging (that would be our state dance!) — so make sure to head out and enjoy it all during your stay at Paradise Resort!
