If you are looking for a fun, free and family-friendly way to spend the summer nights during your Myrtle Beach vacation, just look up. That's where you’ll see fireworks exploding overhead virtually every night of the week … if you know when and where to go. Fortunately for guests at The Caribbean Resort & Villas, you don't have to go far to catch the fireworks shows.

There are various Grand Strand venues where you can take the family to see free pyrotechnics displays, such as over the Atlantic Ocean at the Second Avenue Pier, over the lake at Barefoot Landing and over the baseball diamond at Myrtle Beach Pelicans games. But no one in town launches bigger, brighter fireworks more often than just one mile down the road at Broadway at the Beach.

The most popular entertainment, dining, shopping and nightlife complex on the Grand Strand, Broadway at the Beach lights up the skies over Lake Broadway two nights a week for almost the entire summer. With the fireworks series set for takeoff on Tuesday, June 6, Broadway at the Beach puts on a pyrotechnics display virtually every Tuesday and Friday night through the end of August.

Need a good game plan for the family that won't burst your vacation budget? Make the short drive, take a long walk or catch a quick cab to Broadway at the Beach, which is located only a mile down 29th Avenue North from The Caribbean. Enjoy a fun night, nice dinner and shopping at the many attractions, restaurants and stores until the clock strikes 10 p.m., then find a good spot along the shores of Lake Broadway to catch the fireworks show under the moon and stars.

Providing free entertainment for the whole family, including a season-long series of concerts, festivals and kid-themed events, Broadway at the Beach presents fireworks on 20-plus evenings during the three-month summer celebration. After the June 6 kickoff, fireworks shows are set for June 13, 20, 23, 27 and 30, followed by a huge Fourth of July party. Pyrotechnics continue July 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, and 28, Aug. 1, 4, 8, 11, 15, 18, 22 and 29, and an end-of-summer show on Sept. 3.

If you can't make it to one of these many dates at Broadway, never fear. There are three other venues on the Grand Strand that also set fire to the sky during the summer months — two of them also located a close distance from The Caribbean Resort & Villas. Load up the family and head to one of these local hot spots for free pyrotechnics displays and a whole lot more:

* Myrtle Beach Boardwalk: The Hot Summer Nights series once again brings great live music, dancing, kids’ festivals and more to the downtown district, and the highlight of the week is fireworks show over the Atlantic Ocean. To view the fireworks launched from the Second Avenue Pier, guests can head to Plyler Park for all the pre-show festivities, then grab a spot on the beach for a front-row seat. This year's lineup for pyrotechnics displays is June 14, 21, and 28; July 4, 12, 19, and 26; Aug. 2, 9, 16, and 23; and the season is capped with a special Labor Day weekend season finale on Sept. 2. Admission is free, and the fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

* Myrtle Beach Pelicans: What better way to cap a night at the ballpark than with a huge postgame fireworks show? After the final out at all Saturday-night (and a few additional) home games, the team cuts the lights and lights up the skies while guests watch the show from their seats. Upcoming shows are scheduled for May 6 and 13, June 3, 10, 22, 24 and 25, July 4, 6, 13, 15, 20, 22 and 23, and August 3, 5, 6, 12 and 26.

* Barefoot Landing: Head up to this North Myrtle Beach complex on Monday nights for excellent entertainment, shopping, dining and fireworks. Barefoot Landing hosts nightly sunset parties with marching musicians and entertainers, capped on Mondays by a big pyrotechnics display. Fireworks shows are held every Monday in June, July and August, as well as a special Fourth of July display. All fireworks shows start at 9:30 p.m.

The best way to top off every late-night fireworks show is by returning to your comfortable room at The Caribbean Resort & Villas for a good night’s rest. With fireworks shows set for at least four nights a week, you’re going to need plenty of rest of catch them all.
