Springtime in Myrtle Beach is a special time of year. As the weather starts to warm and folks begin to flock back to the beach, the Grand Strand comes to life with snowbirds and spring breakers looking to escape the ice and snow at home.

But it's not just the sunshine that brings the spring crowds to Myrtle Beach. Fun can also be found after the sun goes down. In fact, Myrtle Beach is almost as famous for its nightlife as its sunny days on the sea shore. From beach bars to dance clubs, and for both young and old, the Grand Strand throws a spring break party to cure those wintertime blues. Best of all, it doesn't have to be dark to enjoy the nightlife in Myrtle Beach, where the festivities start early and never end.

The Caribbean Resort is right in the middle of all the action, and guests don't even have to leave the property to find spring break fun for the whole family. Let the little ones play in our indoor/outdoor pool deck and waterpark while you enjoy a frozen drink and an ocean view from SkipJack's Tiki Bar on our oceanfront patio. But for those who want to see how the other half celebrates spring break in Myrtle Beach, here are five of the hottest spots for nightlife in the spring:

  • Bandito's Cantina: Located about a mile south of the resort, this Mexican/Caribbean-themed cantina is as famous for its frozen drinks as its hot and spicy food selection. This two-story eatery features a large patio and oceanfront lawn that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, and an outdoor stage features live music and special events. Margaritas, Pina Coladas and a wide selection of frozen drinks are available as this place turns into party central both day and night.

  • Bummz Beach Cafe: Take a short stroll down the beach or Boulevard to this spring break party spot. Situated in a small beach shack that sits amid rows of high-rise hotels and resorts, Bummz boasts the best back yard in town. Sit in the sunshine and enjoy the ocean view, great food and tasty drinks, and enjoy live music every day on the outdoor stage. The fun moves indoors on the chillier nights, and their Working Women's Wednesdays draw a nice crowd.

  • Malibu's Surf Bar: Get ready to hit the dance floor at this Broadway at the Beach club. With many changes under way in the Celebrity Square district, you can count on Malibu's to pump up the jam and pack the house. The spacious dance floor features a great white shark flashing its pearly whites while patrons move to the beat. The house DJ plays a nice mix of dance music, and you can always go on a fun pub crawl to the other surrounding bars for a change of pace.

  • Señor Frogs: This international chain gained fame as a popular spring break bar in Mexico, and the Broadway at the Beach location continues in that same spirit by hosting some festive gatherings both day and night. Lunch time has more of a family-friendly atmosphere, but things heat up in the evenings among the college-aged crowd and young adults. Senor Frogs also holds contests and theme nights to celebrate the spring-break season.

After a fun night out on the town, catch a cab back to the Caribbean Resort and Villas for a little rest, relaxation and recovery time. After all, you have to be ready for more Myrtle Beach spring break fun the next morning.
