The Myrtle Beach area knows how to throw a big seaside birthday bash for Uncle Sam, and everyone is invited to celebrate in true American fashion. Featuring fireworks, parades, patriotic music and baseball, the Grand Strand is ground zero for good times on the Fourth of July. That's especially true for guests at The Caribbean Resort & Villas, which is located on the Myrtle Beach oceanfront and close to all the major celebrations. Here are a few of the highlights for Independence Day:

* Broadway at the Beach: Guests at The Caribbean Resort & Villas can make the 1-mile trek straight up 29th Avenue North to one of the biggest Fourth of July parties in town. During the highlight event of its Summer Nights at Broadway entertainment series, the entertainment, shopping and dining district will offer a free concert and other family-friendly entertainment, such as stilt-walkers, fire dancers, face-painting and more. At 10 p.m., all eyes turn to the skies over Lake Broadway for the main attraction — a huge fireworks blowout with patriotic music playing over the PA system. Enjoy a night of dining, shopping and attractions before the show.

* Myrtle Beach Boardwalk: The center of the 1.2-mile Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is the place to be on July 4 for an evening of live music, entertainment and a massive pyrotechnics display over the Atlantic Ocean. Located in the heart of Myrtle Beach's famed downtown district, about 1.5 miles south of the Caribbean Resort, the Boardwalk will host entertainment at the main stage in Plyler Park at 7 p.m., followed by a fireworks show from the Second Avenue Pier at 10 p.m. Visitors can also ride the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, and if you time it right, you can see the fireworks from the top of the nearly 190-foot apex. For those still on the ground, the pyrotechnics will be easily visible from any point along the Boardwalk and beach.

* Myrtle Beach Pelicans: America's pastime is a great way for Myrtle Beach visitors to pass the time and celebrate the Fourth of July with the local minor-league baseball team. Repeatedly ranked as providing one of the top fan experiences in the nation, the Pelicans put on an amazing show at Pelicans Ballpark, particularly on the Fourth. In addition to the action on the field and the between-inning entertainment, the Pelicans will put on an impressive fireworks display after the game. The first pitch is at 7:05 p.m., so the fireworks usually start about 9:30 or 10 p.m., depending on the length of the game.

* Murrells Inlet Independence Day Boat Parade: This small fishing village, located about 15 miles south of Myrtle Beach, is known as the “Seafood Capital of South Carolina” for its fresh catches and tasty restaurants. But on the Fourth of July, it is also famous for hosting the 34th Annual Murrells Inlet Independence Day Boat Parade, a patriotic procession of decorated boats sailing along the waterfront and waving to revelers along the way. The parade runs from 4 to 6 p.m. and can be viewed from many points along the inlet. Afterward, the party moves to the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk for a 10 p.m. fireworks show launched from Veterans Pier.

The stage is set for another blast in Myrtle Beach this Fourth of July, and you can be in the middle of all the fun. Book your vacation plans at The Caribbean Resort & Villas, and get ready to celebrate Uncle Sam’s birthday in true Myrtle Beach fashion.
