To make our teens happy while on vacation, try and find activities that are friendly to your vacation budget.  Don't worry, there are a million things to in Myrtle Beach and on the Grand Strand, the options available can be both exciting for everyone in your family and budget-friendly — often even free! Check out these great activities for your stay at Ocean Reef Resort that will get most any teen off the screen and out of the room without spending a dime:

Murrells Inlet MarshWalk — Loaded with great seafood restaurants, small local shops and perfect views of the water from every angle, this is the perfect place to have a nice, relaxing evening — all without spending a lot of money! Have a nice dinner of the freshest seafood and then walk it off, taking in every step of the great nature walk.

Ocean Boulevard’s Hot Summer Nights — Hot Summer Nights is a popular series of free events held along Myrtle Beach’s Boardwalk and Ocean Boulevard throughout the summer. Filled with concerts, street performers and fireworks, these nightly activities offer a great way to get everyone out of the room for an evening of fun, whether you are dancing the night away at a free concert or staring in amazement as you watch the street performers doing incredible stunts. Check out the schedule at myrtlebeachdowntown.com before going to perfectly plan out your night.

Broadway at the Beach — While typically a hot spot for shopping at all of its fine retailers, Broadway at the Beach is also a great place to just walk around and check out everything else it has to offer without spending a dime. During summertime at the 350-acre complex, you can find a wealth of dining options, two small amusement parks filled with rides, free nightly entertainment and kids’ activities, and free fireworks shows on most Tuesday and Friday nights. Perfect for all ages and very safe, Broadway is a place where you can let the teenagers roam around and explore on their own — and they may never want to spend another evening in the hotel room!

The Beach — Among the Myrtle Beach area’s biggest tourist draws are the white, sandy beaches that are always beautiful and always free. With 65 miles of coastline, there is plenty of room for a huge group to spread out, or to put a bit of space between yourself and your teenagers, who may think it’s not cool to hang around their parents. Grab a towel and chair, round up that rowdy bunch of teenagers, and head on down for a day full of sun, relaxation and a whole lot of family fun!
