The Hottest Spots for Frozen Drinks in Myrtle Beach

Among the many amenities you will enjoy at Compass Cove are a pair of restaurant/bars that offer incredible views and some of the best frozen drinks in town. Perched on the second floor, the Crow's Nest Restaurant is famous for its open-air patio deck and the house special Voodoo Bucket, which includes five types of rum, three fruit juices (orange, cranberry and pineapple) and as many giant straws as you need to share this tasty treat with your party. You can even keep the bucket as a souvenir.

The popular Voodoo Buckets are also available at the Tiki Bar, which is located on the oceanfront pool deck just steps away from the beach so you can seek some cool relief from the summer heat. Both bars offer a variety of frozen and icy drinks, like tasty piña coladas, strawberry daiquiris or the popular Miami Vice, which is a mix of the two. On-the-rocks favorites include the Lifesaver (coconut rum, melon and pineapple juice) and the Blue Hawaiian (rum, curaçao, pineapple and coconut).

For guests who prefer to hold the alcohol, the Crow's Nest and Tiki Hut also serve virgin varieties of most frozen drinks, such as the house special Strawberry Shortcake. The Crow's Nest hosts Margarita Mondays and other daily drink specials throughout the week, and happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. with $3 house drinks, $4 Bloody Marys, and $5 piña coladas. Chilling out with a frozen drink is a great way to end an afternoon on the beach or to start a night out on the town.

For guests looking to venture off the property and discover all the great things Myrtle Beach has to offer, there are a few choice locations where you and your party can enjoy the sights and sounds while also going on a frozen cocktail pub crawl. Two of the most popular places for entertainment on the Grand Strand — the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Broadway at the Beach — also happen to be two of the hottest spots for frozen daiquiri bars. Here's a quick look at the highlights of those venues:

* Myrtle Beach Boardwalk: Guests can stroll through the heart of the downtown district on this 1.3-mile oceanfront walkway, and make a few stops to refuel on liquid refreshments along the way. Art Burger Sushi Bar features a unique liquid nitrogen system that makes creative frozen concoctions, like the house special Beach Portrait (Captain Morgan's Caribbean Coconut Rum, mango puree, pineapple juice and a splash of grenadine). One taste and it's easy to see why this is Art's most popular treat.

Just a short walk away is Hurricane's Daiquiri Bar, which features dozens of slushie machines that serve a variety of flavors for every palate. Among the more popular selections are the house special CAT 5 Hurricane (151 rum and a blend of fruit juices), the Mudslide (vodka, coffee and cocoa extracts, and milk), and the Eye Candy (151 and blue raspberry flavor). If you make it all the way to the northernmost end of the Boardwalk, reward yourself with a frozen margarita at Banditos Cantina.

* Broadway at the Beach: The Celebrity Square section of Broadway features several daiquiri bars that are like candy shops for adults. Fat Tuesday features more than 30 slushie machines serving such classics as 190 Octane (190 proof grain alcohol and orange juice), Electric Lemonade (151 rum, lemonade), Amaretto Pineapple and the New Orleans classic Hurricane (rum punch). Wet Willie's offers a similar chilly lineup, and Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville lives up to its name by serving the largest and tastiest selection of margaritas on the Strand.

After a fun night out on the town, catch a cab back to Compass Cove Resort and enjoy a nightcap at the Crow’s Nest. It’s a great way to conclude a wonderful day in Myrtle Beach and to keep cool in the heat of summer.
