The Track Brings Another Racing Thrill Park to Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is home to a brand-new thrill park, and guests at Long Bay Resort are only a short drive away from taking The Track Family Recreation Center for a test drive. Holding a soft opening at the end of the 2016 season, The Track is located on Restaurant Row, only a few miles north of Long Bay, and offers a wide variety of go-kart racing and arcade games.

Billed as your one-stop, action-packed place for family fun on the Grand Strand, this 6-acre facility features several go-kart tracks for drivers of varying skill levels, including two elevated, multi-level courses — the Mighty Myrtle and the Wild Woody — with challenging twists and turns. The Rookie Karts and Kiddie Karts tracks provide younger, inexperienced drivers with a safe surface to experience the thrill of racing. Youngsters over 3 feet tall can ride shotgun with parents on the wilder rides.

The Track features new, state-of-the-art electric go-karts that provide all the speed and power of their gas-guzzling cousins without the fumes. The Track also offers a 6,000-square-foot arcade that is climate controlled and filled with the latest in carnival-style and video games. Patrons can purchase passes that are good for rides on the go-kart tracks, and the games in the arcade range from classics like Skee-Ball and Pop-a-Shot to the newest in high-technology and virtual-reality games.

The Track offers yet another option for families looking for a fun night out on the town, and the Restaurant Row location makes it the ideal spot to kill some time before or after a nice family dinner. There is no admission fee, so patrons can load points on their cards and use them throughout their vacation. The Track is open Fridays through Mondays through March 2, after which the facility will go to a 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily operation schedule.

The Grand Strand is a hot spot for go-kart racing. For those who prefer to spend their Myrtle Beach vacation in the fast lane, check out these other area go-kart tracks:

* Broadway Grand Prix: Located near Broadway at the Beach, this fun park offers a lot more than go-kart racing. There are eight race tracks for different ages and skill levels, plus a putt-putt golf course, an indoor arcade and other thrill rides to keep the whole family entertained.

* Family Kingdom: Located in the heart of downtown Myrtle Beach, this amusement park/water park has it all, from roller coasters to kiddie rides. But among the biggest attractions are the go-kart tracks, where patrons can test their skills on four wheels.

* Ocean Drive Pavilion: You won’t find the speedier go-karts at this seaside amusement park in North Myrtle Beach, but you can enjoy the timeless fun of riding the bumper cars. Send your friends for a spin and avoid getting rear-ended at the O.D. Pavilion.

* Wild Water & Wheels: This Surfside Beach attraction is best known for its waterslides and wave pool, but the “Wheels” part of its name represents a series of go-kart tracks that keep people coming back. Wild Water & Wheels also has an arcade, putt-putt golf course and bumper boats.

After a night of fun on the racetracks, head back to your vacation home away from home at Long Bay Resort for a relaxing rest on your oceanfront balcony and a luxurious stay in our clean and comfortable accommodations. With our indoor pool deck, waterslides, on-site dining, great location and hospitality, Long Bay Resort is the perfect place to stay and play during your Myrtle Beach vacation.
