Even in the Sun Fun Capital of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina a little rain must fall, but those cloudy days don’t have to put a damper on your family vacation fun.
Rain or shine, guests Paradise Resort can enjoy our onsite amenities, including indoor water facilities, game room and free in-room DVD rentals.
But if you want to go the extra mile to keep the kids entertained when skies are grey, Myrtle Beach has lots of ways to beat the rainy-day blues or summertime heat.
There are several indoor, air-conditioned venues with a variety of activities for the kids. Here are some of our guests’ favorite silver linings for rainy-day fun:
Broadway at the Beach is the place to escape the weather with some of the top indoor attractions in town. Ripley’s Aquarium, Hollywood Wax Museum and WonderWorks are among the more popular spots to spend a few hours inside exploring the exhibits, and the new TopGolf is a great way for families to compete in golf games. On the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, Ripley’s offers three thrilling venues – the Believe it or not Odd-itorium, Haunted Adventure, Moving Theater and Super Fun Zone.
Parents trying to limit their kids’ screen time can score some points by making an exception during a rainy vacation day. Take the little ones to Dave & Buster’s at Broadway at the Beach, or the Boardwalk Arcade and Fun Plaza on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. For a blast from the past or a glance of the future, check out the Myrtle Beach Pinball Museum or Myrtle Beach Virtual Reality arcades. The Grand Strand also boasts several escape rooms, a trending game for families and groups.
Sometimes the little ones need to burn off some energy, and Myrtle Beach has you covered on hot or rainy days. Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park provides a safe, clean environment for kids to literally bounce off the walls. Play stations include basketball, dodge ball, gymnastics, obstacle courses, and rock-climbing walls. 710 Bowling & Billiards is located in The Market Common, only a short distance Paradise Resort. In nearby Surfside Beach, the Fun Warehouse features roller skating, laser tag, arcade games and more.
OK, so it isn’t always easy to get the kids to go along with shopping, but Myrtle Beach has so many shops geared toward the younger set that they may snap at the chance to indulge in some retail therapy. On the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, fun stores like the Gay Dolphin Gift Cove and It’s Sugar candy shop are loaded with treats and sweets. The Build-A-Bear Workshop and Toy Island are big hits at Broadway at the Beach. Coastal Grand Mall and the Tanger Outlets also offer covered shopping.
Hot or rainy days are a great time to catch a movie at one of the local theaters at The Market Common, Coastal Grand Mall and Broadway at the Beach, which is also home to The Simpsons in 4D’s Aztek Theater and Kwik-E-Mart. Myrtle Beach also offers live theater options that are great for the kids, including Pirates Voyage and Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. Guests who sign up for the Brittain Rewards program receive free and unlimited DVD rentals for an in-room family movie night.
The best news is that the rain never lasts for long in Myrtle Beach before the sun returns and the outdoor fun resumes. Book your vacation stay Paradise Resort Today!
