10 Places for Killer Margaritas on the Grand Strand

Check #margaritas on social media for a sense of what this delicious cocktail means.

There isn’t much to it. Tequila and lime, agave and orange liqueur. But what says happy times with friends like a margarita? Customize it as frozen or on the rocks. Do you say yes to salt? How about all the ways mixologists add a spice or sweet element to them?

Myrtle Beach has a few must-visit spots for your next margarita here. Check them out.

Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant

This hacienda-style restaurant out of Texas specializes in Mexican food and margaritas. The El Jefe Margarita is hand-shaken, with Maestro Dobel Diamante tequila hand-selected, private barrels for Abuelo’s. Mixed in: Agavero orange liqueur, fresh citrus, grilled orange, and kosher salt rim.

Banditos Cantina

It’s a casual spot on the oceanfront with terrific tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. Check them out for brunch. Their Classic Margarita is boss. If you seek local flavor, try the Boardwalk. It has bubbles, Hornitos plata, orange liqueur, peach liqueur, and sour.

Fiesta Mexicana

The joyous atmosphere and quirky menu will make this a fast favorite. Fiesta Mexicana features a tequila bar and generous food portions, and service here is outstanding, too. Their margaritas are as beautiful as they are delicious.

Margaritas Mexican Restaurant

How can you go wrong with a name like that? Enjoy an array of Mexican and Tex-Mex family dishes in this lively, casual eatery. You’ll love the food for sure, and the margaritas are classic. Ask for the top shelf.

Nacho Hippo

Bring the family to this Mexican eatery. It features flat-screen TVs, live entertainment, and sidewalk seating. The Hippo serves specialty margaritas, such as the Uptown. That includes 1800 silver tequila, fresh-squeezed margarita mix, and a Grand Marnier floater.  In a salt-rimmed glass, of course.

Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar

It’s a beach hotspot with a pool! Order customary bar food, beer, and tropical cocktails here. It’s friendly, clean, and features a rockin’ house band. Locals have been coming to Annie’s for years, and you can take your margarita poolside and chill.

RipTydz Oceanfront Grille & Rooftop Bar

Find a reverberant vibe with American cuisine and seafood — grab a patio and rooftop bar spot for ocean views. It’s great for a special occasion or no occasion at all. They serve incredible margaritas and cocktails — we recommend the mega mason jar drink called Everything Under the Sun.

Tin Roof

Drop by this place on the oceanfront for live music on the patio. It’s tough to top the Roof for a fun atmosphere and a Myrtle Beach vibe. The House Margarita includes El Jimador Tequila, Triple Sec, lime, sweet and sour. Add mango, passionfruit, peach, raspberry, or strawberry.

Wicked Tuna at 2nd Avenue Pier

Might as well go all-out: The filet mignon and lobster tail on risotto here are masterful. The Tuna also serves up live music. Order The Skinny Margarita, which has Camerena tequila, fresh juices, topped with Grand Marnier, and rimmed with salt.

8th Ave Tiki Bar & Grill

Escape to an island feel in this waterfront grill. Sit on the patio with a burger and frozen cocktail for the full experience. The bartenders are first-rate, and the brisket tacos are, too. The Jose Rita features Jose Cuervo tequila, agave syrup, lime juice, and triple sec with a salted rim.
