3 Cocktails Just Right for Your Autumn Escape in Myrtle Beach

It’s fall, y’all! Time to haul out the hoodies and long britches, as they say down south. If you’re fancy, you probably also changed the color of your purse (or pocketbook, as they say down south.) It should be of little surprise that your choice of drink changes with the season, too.

Although enjoying a summer cocktail in autumn isn’t the worst thing ever, here’s a guide to fall spirits.

3 Cocktails to Enjoy on Vacation This Fall

The air is cooler, the proximity to warm-your-heart goodness palpable. Here’s what to mix up in your resort suite after a slightly chilly walk on the beach.

1. Hot Buttered Bourbon

It’s cozy, like, sitting next to a fireplace cozy. It tastes like all the fall holidays combined. It warms you like your favorite slippers and favorite sweater just double-teamed you.

INGREDIENTS

BUTTERED BOURBON BATTER

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon allspice

TO MAKE 1 DRINK:

  • 1 to 2 shots of bourbon
  • 4 to 5 ounces boiling water
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons buttered bourbon mix
  • whipped cream for serving

DIRECTIONS

  1. In your electric mixer, place butter, sugar, maple syrup, spices, and salt. Beat on medium speed until combined and smooth. Place butter in a sealed container. Refrigerate.
  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Fill mug with 1 to 2 shots of bourbon. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture into the bourbon. Fill the mug with boiling water and whisk constantly until the butter melts and dissolves. Top with whipped cream and serve.
