5 Reasons a Winter Trip to the Grand Strand Is Brilliant

Well, you can’t jump in the pool in the winter, can you?

Unless you’re staying at Paradise Resort. Then, there are indoor pools. See, it’s tough to find reasons not to vacation in Myrtle Beach this winter.

If you’ve never considered a winter trip to the Grand Strand, we’ll bet you’ll change your mind by the end of this post.

Why the Existence of Winter on the Grand Strand Is Good

Walk on the shore or stay in for hot chocolate. You have lots of great options this winter in Myrtle Beach.

1. You’ll Love the Weather

Prediction: You’ll need your bathing suit AND your hoodie. Temperatures average 60 degrees Fahrenheit, with some days in the 70s. You can do plenty indoors, outdoors, at the resort, and out on the town.

TRY THIS: Looking for something fun and exciting? Try zipline adventures at Soar + Explore. You can bungee jump there, too.

2. The Food Is Heavenly

The quality output of cuisine here is insane. Try Duck Choo-Chee Curry at Thai-Lau Restaurant. Enjoy The Our Burger at Wahlburgers. Indulge in authentic cuisine at Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant. It’s a culinary feast.

TRY THIS: Nab Jumbo Chicken Wings at Sandals Restaurant at Paradise Resort. The Blackened Mahi Sandwich is boss, too.

3. The Crowds Aren’t So Bad

Fewer players mean more room to play. You won’t wait as long for the foursome in front of you at Whispering Pines Golf Course. Or at Cancun Lagoon Adventure Golf. And less traffic — car or foot — all around.

TRY THIS: Take an afternoon trip to Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach. You’ll find unique shops and eateries to enjoy without a lot of noise and fuss.

4. Your Accessibility Is Way Better Than in the Summer

There’s less urgency to beat the crowd, so you’ll get to see more when you get there. Take Ripley’s Aquarium for instance. Your toddlers will have a better chance at seeing more with better access to the fun stuff.

TRY THIS: Bowling lanes, no waiting. Head to 810 Billiards & Bowling. You can even check online for current wait times.

5. You’re Going to Save Some Money

The figure you’ll have to spend in December isn’t the same as what you did in July. Part of that is the fun in the sun. Rates are lower for attractions and accommodations when you visit in the off-season.

TRY THIS: A walk along the boardwalk doesn’t have to be costly. It’s free to visit, and your spending along the way is all up to you.
