Contact Your Sitter: Make Plans for a Grand Strand Weekend Getaway

Myrtle Beach has a history of world-class golf, scrumptious seafood, and beautiful beaches. But did you know that the restaurant scene is booming? Along with that comes a wealth of awesome cocktails and other drinks.

Including the incomparable margarita.

Very few drinks say “I’ve had fun in the sun and I’m still not done” like a margarita. And several Grand Strand establishments have created some gems. Many aren’t far from Paradise Resort, which makes all kinds of sense.

1. Banditos Cantina: Classic Margarita

The margarita menu here is in tip-top shape: There are 10 in the lineup! One favorite is the Classic Margarita. Frozen or on the rocks, it comes with Lunazul Blanco, orange liqueur, and sour. Add guava, mango, peach, passionfruit, or strawberry. And don’t forget to ask for the house-made cilantro lime salt!

RECOMMENDED: Order Carnita Pork Tacos with your classic margarita. These favorites come stuffed with cabbage, corn salsa, avocado crema, and cilantro.

2. Nacho Hippo: Rainforest Margarita

If practice makes perfect, Nacho Hippo has definitely been practicing. They have a superlative group of Fruity Marga-tinis that is tough to ignore. But the Rainforest Margarita also attracts a lot of attention. It’s Margaritaville mango tequila, peach schnapps, cranberry juice, and margarita mix. All in a salt-rimmed glass. Maravilloso in Market Common!

RECOMMENDED: Try the Chimi-Chim-Bang-Bang, an unforgettable chimichanga. Enjoy chicken with blended cheese and mango salsa or slow-roasted pork. Or choose beef with blended cheese and fire-roasted salsa.

3. Margaritaville: Smokin’ Rita

The Margaritaville menu tempts like no other. There are 20 superlative margaritas, but the Smokin’ is the hottest. Indulge in Dos Hombres® Mezcal and Grand Marnier® Orange Liqueur. All with the house margarita blend. No need to search for your lost shaker of salt here. With names like Livin’ It Up, That’s My Wave, and Long Weekend, you can’t find anything wrong with any of them.

RECOMMENDED: Share some Spinach & Artichoke Dip. Then indulge in a Cheeseburger in Paradise or Double Cheeseburger in Paradise. Carpe diem.

4. Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant: Platinum Hand-shaken Margarita

This establishment sets the standard for the complete dining experience. This margarita comes on the rocks with El Jimador Silver Tequila and Agavero Orange. Additionally, fresh citrus and a kosher salt rim. The El Jefe Margarita gets lots of attention, but for the adventurer, platinum is king.

RECOMMENDED: Follow up with Fajita Combos. Choose from certified Angus beef steak, premium all-natural chicken, or Yucatan barbecue shrimp. Get an order for two and choose four flavors. What a feast!

5. Fajitas Mexican Restaurant: Margarita

It’s an achievement when your margaritas are so delicious, you only have one on the menu. That’s the case at Fajitas. It’s a family-owned restaurant serving up classics in a cheerful atmosphere. Your margarita will not be small, subtle, or weak. Viva Fajitas, indeed.

RECOMMENDED: Guacamole, to start with. Fajitas Gorditas are amazing, with an incredible array of choices. Pick chicken, chorizo, beef tongue, and marinated or shredded fried pork
