Different areas – at different times – have had varying restrictions during the pandemic. Attractions and restaurants in Myrtle Beach have weathered the storm well, as optimistic business owners do all they can to keep doors open – and employees and visitors safe.
So, what’s open for the new year on the Grand Strand?
We took a look at some of the more popular destinations in Myrtle Beach and checked in to whether they’re open right now. We’ve also made note of any special directions these places have currently to combat COVID-19.
What's the Lowdown?
According to a state-by-state list the AARP published Dec. 28, Gov. Henry McMaster issued an order that lifted occupancy limits on restaurants, which can operate at 100% capacity but must require patrons to wear face coverings while inside (except when eating and drinking.)
Concert halls and theaters can reopen at 50% occupancy or 250 people (whichever is smaller.)

Broadway at the Beach
This popular dining, entertainment, and shopping complex will have frequent cleaning in high-touch areas, such as common seating, door handles, restrooms, etc. This includes a comprehensive cleaning before the facility opens daily.

Broadway Grande Prix
Face coverings are required if its safe for an individual. They’ve enhanced cleaning protocols and apologize if guests experience delays or other inconveniences as a result. The staff asks guest to wash their hands often and avoid touching their face.

Brookgreen Gardens
Interior galleries and the Keepsakes Museum shop are open. Masks are required by Georgetown County Emergency Ordinance 20-33. If you don’t have a mask, one will be provided. Food venues and public restrooms are open with safety protocols in place.

Family Kingdom Amusement Park
Splashes Oceanfront Park is closed temporarily. Team members get ongoing training about maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for guests. They’ll sanitize targeted areas frequently throughout the day.

Hollywood Wax Museum
They’ll provide a free mask if you don’t have one. Otherwise, they’re following protocol expected in the city of Myrtle Beach.

Market Common

Myrtle Beach State Park
Park staff and visitors (age 2 and older) are required to wear masks where the general public may congregate. This includes nature centers, park offices, restrooms, stores, visitor centers, or while touring any facility being considered for rent.

Ripley’s is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. There are markers on the floor to remind you of social distancing. There’s reduced contact for many procedures, with protective barriers and encouraging cashless transactions.

Skywheel Myrtle Beach
Expect longer wait times with social distancing. Management screens employees with temperature checks and wellness questionnaires before they enter the venue. Crew members are required to wear masks, and customers are encouraged to buy tickets online in advance.
